Where We Stand

Our mission is simple: encourage youth through arts education in the Globe/Miami/San Carlos community. Since 2018, Monsoon Youth has promoted the growth and well-being of young people in the Globe-Miami-San Carlos area. We were fortunate to have established a strong foundation for youth leadership and community impact from the beginning by adopting two flagship programs, Summer Youth Musical Theatre Program and Midnight Cicadas Robotics.

“SYMTP provided me with a safe place and a group of great people that helped me grow into somebody much more daring than I would’ve been had I not joined six years ago.  It planted a seed that was a love for art that grew into a full on passion.”

SYMTP Participant

“I began the mentorship program wanting to learn how to better interact with children and others in general. What I experienced was way beyond my expectations. I not only learned how to be a better teacher to children younger than me, but I also was able to develop my teamwork and leadership skills. I had many responsibilities assigned to me including coming up with choreography, helping to develop kids' characters, set building, sound engineering, and many others. Every day I was assigned new tasks that challenged my skills. I learned something new every day because of this.”’

“I recently had an IEP for [a student] at Copper Rim.  In the meeting, I talked about how [he] had such a strong sense of self and identity. How he embraces his hearing loss as part of his identity and carried himself with pride. This is not typical for a student with hearing loss at that age. [His] mom credited you and your arts program for part of that strong self-concept.  She said your program really helped him bring out his best self.”
