Celebrating Creative Voice
Art Out Loud was hosted to provide an opportunity for youth of all ages to contribute artistic works that could potentially be featured throughout the community. This zine is filled with original pieces and art produced by children and teens, Kindergarten to 12th grade, in the Globe-Miami-San Carlos area.
During this project children expressed their creative voice under the direction of their school teachers, our teaching artists, teen mentors, and simply from the comfort of their own home.
The art we received speaks to the profound and poignant beauty innate in all youth in our community! We wish we could have showcased it all! A public showcase of some of the art we received can be viewed at Vida e Caffé in Downtown Globe. Several posters can also be found at Miami Memorial Library and Globe Public Library. Printed zines can be collected from any of the 3 locations. (limited supply available)

Over the course of this project we sorted through over 200 unique submissions! HUGE shout-out to the community for participating in this contest! There will be more opportunities to have your work published in a zine in the near future, so stay tuned to Monsoon Youth for updates!
Monsoon Youth is indebted to the many young teaching artists and teen mentors who participated in this project. We are especially thankful for the support of the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation and the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
