What is the Mini Holiday Parade?
In 2020, Monsoon Youth created the first ever Mini Holiday Parade. Comprised of toy-sized, make shift floats created by our staff and members of the community, we used perspective tricks and video editing to inspire the feeling of a life-sized parade.
2022
The official 2.0 version! Winter Workshops were introduced, welcoming the local youth to become immersed in the production experience. A new set was built, the participants wrote and performed in their own commercials, and the improv commentary was performed by the kids as well.
2021
What was the believed to be the 2.0 version of the original formula, the community was invited to submit floats and drop them off at the Chamber of Commerce. Moon and Dezi were at the helm for commentary this year; the duo was given a brief refresher before seeing the floats to understand the flow of the “parade”. Fake commercials were also introduced to help sell the experience.
2020
The first ever parade! Quickly orchestrated to be released in time for the holiday season, Mike & Lyndon provided improv commentary as a pre-recorded video of floats was displayed in the background.
